Have you seen it? http://notes.envato.com/general/tuts-premium-security/

That is so so sad… I can’t believe it – by looking at people reactions it seems that whole tuts+ reputation was just destroyed.

What a major fail by a multi-million dollar company, this is the time to start using secure login on the marketplaces Envato! I have purchased a subscription about 6 times for Tuts Premium but they will be the last. You can not be a multi-million dollar company and not have secure login on all these sites. Major fail and highly amateur.

“Tuts+ Premium is the only Envato service that operates with cleartext passwords, and it was a known internal issue for us, with a plan currently in progress to upgrade away from the current plugin.”

“cleartext passwords”? ROFL

Like I said time and time again, the dev team at Envato is just there for show. Marketplace developmental progress is a joke and clearly as is the security. Hacked? Okay, it happens, nothing you can do. Plain text? I can’t even fathom that. Just knowing ANYONE at Envato with access to the DB can see everyone’s passwords pisses me off, let alone hackers who make quick use of sensitive data like this.
