(Locked) Themeforest themes distributed for free

Today I have recived a link from a friend with a bunch of themeforest files and codecanyon available to download for free :

my question is : Is Envato doing something about it ?

No they cant do much about this

Man, don’t post links in here. Send them to support, this has been discussed so many times. The only thing your doing right now is promoting those rotten apples even more.

First of all… if you can’t see the link you can’t see if your files are there so you can report them … so … tell me 60 themeforest products are available for download for free and the authors don’t know that .. what would you do ?

Just replied on my items in there with this comments.

I’m the creator of this theme, I find this rather rude of you to rip off hard working people, I’m going to ask you kindly to remove this item from your site or else I’m forced to take legal actions.

Don’t know when it will help but it’s better then doing nothing at all.

1. Please for the love of god remove the link. It is against forum policy and is unfair to authors. How would you feel to have a link posted to one of your stolen tempaltes directly here on the blog.

2. Submit a support ticket to the staff here

3. Something is done – you get a shiny badge for reporting it . Now on a more serious note it is hard battening these sites. It takes a ton of effort to get one of them to remove it time during which it probably appears on 10 more. So you got to be patient a little.

4. If you don’t like standing around waiting what you need to do if file a DMCA take down claim simultaneously to all the file host that are hosting the actual files (pirate sites rarely do). If you use something like https://myows.com/ you can make making and proving you hold the right much more simpler.

5. Most of the people here are of good faith and don’t share stuff that they buy. So what some pirates do is rip off the preview (happened to one of my templates ) So f*%$ the preview so bad to make it a nightmare to edit to the point of the person trying to giving up and really consider buying. I gave some tips on how to really mess with pirates minds in an older thread.

6. TF CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A STICKY NAMED “WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND STOLEN FILES ” explaining the procedure.

I’d contact support, like I’ve done dozens of times before… so they can take action to have them removed…

What you did was advertise free themes… multiplying the problem… no offense, but that’s what you did…

Bitpub my product also is for free at download there … envato is only telling developers to report DMCA so … a ticket will solve what ?
