I disagree that the standards are not still high. Maybe we have short memories but they got a lot better over the summer and I rarely see a file that I don’t think should have been accepted. Just my opinion.
On a side note, I do agree that the homepage needs some reorganization. But I had my best month ever last month and am having a great month so far again. But I’ve had great exposure, which is the name of the game these days.

activeden should do a similar website like the one envato did for CC & TF > http://wp.envato.com/
with links to tutorials to learn flash & AS, various AD Templates & Utilities, Testimonials of Authors and Buyers, Stats of how much money the Top Sellers made in which time frame and various other informations
that would be a HUGE promotion and would bring in way more traffic than a simple ad
just saying

Personally, when I see 10/15 new files on the frontpage in a single day, it makes me sick.
Is that much or less? I think when our files stay for a week on the front page it’s pretty good. I had a hand in my friend’s file and I have noticed it was up there for a week. In my time, a year ago we were happy if our files stood for 2-3 days then it was washed away by the new wave of files. On TF there are realatively few files getting out so allowing more time on the frontpage thus more exposure. This is because they don’t sell all kinds of little things (I’m not saying it’s good or bud, just a reason) so it’s focused mainly on templates and they don’t grow on every tree. There is high demand and moderate supply. On ad there is a moderate demand and very high supply. I have to say AD quality standards have improved that’s why we see and receive rejections posts in the forums. All in all I like where this is going. I recently started learning AS3 and in my opinion AD and flash are definitely not dying.

That is correct what you are saying. TF has only templates that is because of CodeCanyon having all the other js, php scripts so the focus on TF is 100% on templates.
This should be the same for AD to have a sister site where all the other flash components would go so AD would only have Templates no components.
This definitely would fix a lot of issues, I as a buyer would love to have just templates to see on the front page cause i really do not want to search i want them in my face on the first page. Call me lazy or what you will but a lot of buyers don’t want to cycle through all the search pages.
I hope Envato realizes this and will consider the ideas that a lot of us AD authors came up with. It will be a plus for us authors and Envato as well.
Cheers

Guys, just give it up, it has been discussed hundreds of times. Bottom line is .. It will never happen! That’s why authors slowly but surely migrate from here ( myself included )
I don’t want to work 100 hours + at a full featured template to get the same exposure as a half an hour dancing pig.
Please, please stop putting animated gif’s on these forums. My browser keeps freezing.
On the other subject, its time to sleep again.
