Just wanted to share an awesome tool to test easily your designs under any browser, maybe some of you already know it but it took me a while to find the perfect solution for me
It’s VMware Player, this tool is free and you just have to register to download it. So now I have a fresh copy of XP running under W7 with a native IE6
You can then have multiple installs with older versions of any browsers
That’s only a free trial, you have to buy it in the end…
Personally I’m using WinXP Mode on Win7 – that IS free, but only works on Win7 Pro and up…

Well I can upgrade if I want but there are no restricitons for that one. Other products may have a free trial but not this one.
I know IEtester, but it doesn’t render like a native IE and I dropped it a long time ago.
Also the WinXP mode is restricted to W7 Premium or any other than the basic “familial” edition, I couldn’t get it

I’ll probably give it a try, I’ll see how that works with VMware, thanks for the link

If you’re running Win7 you can just use VirtualPC to build WinXP installs. I have 2 and run the XP applications as Win7 windows. This way they display as if they’re regular programs, so you don’t have to be in a remote desktop like view.

My “home” W7 is not eligible for VirtualPC
And I never understood why, spoon never worked on my computer
