Just a quick one folks

Wondering if its possible to do a ‘pro’ version of a plugin I already have on here?

Basically its the same but with many. many more features, is this kind of thing allowed on here or a no-no?

Are you sure? I’ve seen this discussed many times and I believe the conclusion was always “no”.

You can release add-ons to the plugin, but not a more fully featured version.

+1 My understanding is that you can’t use the marketplaces as a launch point for more advanced products.

There were a couple of “pro” versions (non pro versions already on Code Canyon) launched in the last couple of days, but I don’t think they are technically allowed.

Me too, from what I’ve understood, is not allowed agreeing to the CC policy.

I see, well to be specific it’s basically a much much beefed up version of my notification plugin

It’s wayyyy different tho as it shows posts, tweets, photos in stead of the messages and has much more focus in social than promo. Do you guys think given it doesn’t actually share any functionality of the original I could do it?

My original thought was to just slap notifications on top to make more complete package, but perhaps I could just allow the notification plugin to play nice if present

If it is completely different (which yours sounds like it is), then it should be acceptable. The problem comes in when you try and release a pro version that is identical to the non-pro version, but with a couple of additional features.

I think the best solution, is to name it something different. Then you could cross-market the two plugins on both item pages, for example:

Need even more functionality? Then take a look at our simpALL Notification Bar

Need something more basic? Then take a look at our EZ Notification Bar
