Referrals

Last month I started taking a referrals seriously, in an attempt to supplement my monthly income a bit.

I didn’t implement my strategy until around the 10th of January, but wound up with 243 clickthroughs overall for the month. Of those 243 clickthroughs, 2 people actually registered, and of those 2 new members, 1 made a cash deposit into his Envato account. That’s a measly .08% efficiency (2 / 243 = .08%), however it did pay off with a nice deposit from that one new member.

I’m sure referrals fluctuate from month to month, and there’s probably an element of luck mixed in, regarding whether or not a referral actually decides to sign up and make a cash deposit, but I was interested in hearing stories from other authors.

How many of the you take referrals seriously? And if you do, how successful have you been? (without divulging income of course ) What percentage of your clickthroughs wind up as new registrants? Are you experiencing better or worse percentages than my .08%?

I get quite a few click-throughs (approx 500 so far) but only about 12 actually registered through my referral link. 2 out of 12 people made a deposit so I’m guessing it’s not “that” bad.

Yeah looks like you’re doing WAY better than me so far!

I started like you a few weeks ago, and posted only referrals links to my files. I had only about 54 clicktroughs and one registered and deposited. Compared to the amount of time i invested, it’s not really something that helps to buy this Lamborghini soon Audiofiles are probably the hardest to get people onto your Envato profile from a link i guess.

Anyway, let’s try it for another few months and see what comes out

Almost the same here

I make your average 0.8% motion, not 0.08%....

But anyway, mine’s very similar. I get around 80 clickthroughs a month. I’ve been getting them for about 3 months and so far 3 people have registered and deposited.

My average is a shade better than yours at 0.12%, but still nothing I’m going to go to any effort for.

Of course, one thing to remember is that there might be quite a long lead time on these things. People may see and like your work, but not need an After Effects project for several months.

Maybe it just takes a little longer.

My referrals are targeted but unfortunately they rarely buy anything..

I just started doing it the other day. 20 Clickthroughs, 0 Registered Members, 0 Deposits. Doing well. I think most of those were myself testing the links. Would be interesting to hear from people who have been doing it a while. Uniquefx, miseld, etc

I must admit it’s hard job to be success with refs. there is a lot of things you should do to be sure 101% that you are on right place, have right audience and idea how to offer something that is not yours. Days and nights without sleep to achive big goals. I can’t reveal my secrets it would be same as we ask Collis “HOW DID YOU SUCCESS WITH ENVATO ? WHAT IS THE SECRET ?”

For beggining only i can say invest in AD, create website/YT/VM channel, promote yourself, that is how i start, but remember it’s hard to make some serious money.
