As we continue to develop our plugins and themes are we allowed to post a basic and simplified version of our plugins on Wordpress.org with Upgrade info inside the plugin to direct people here to get our advanced, premium version? Can we do this with an existing plugin we have already put on Codecanyon as a exclusive author? I apologize but I’ve had difficulty finding this info.

Yes, you can post lesser, free versions of your plugin on WordPress.org. I have done it with several plugins, and I know a lot of other authors that have as well.

You release a version of the plugin for free that contains only a few features, and then a pro version that contains many more features.
