Hi, I’m following a tutorial on net.tutsplus.com by Jeffrey Way called Photoshop to HTML . My Photoshop skills are developing slowly but surely. To be honest i’m a bit embarrassed asking this question but i’ve been trying for a while now with no joy to find a solution to this:
“Let’s start creating our header. Using the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M), or the Rectangle Tool (U) (or whatever tool you prefer to use), create a rectangle / selection of 1020×100px and fill it with any color just for now.”
How do you create a selection 1020×100px using the Rectangular Marquee Tool? I’ve never used any of these tools to create precise measurements before. I’ve googled this to death.
Any help would be great.
When you select the marquee tool, in the top panel/toolbar appear two input boxes labeled width and height.

Thank you Genem it worked. By default style is set to normal which grey’s out the input boxes. When I set it to fixed size I could input the size required.
Thank you again.

Glad to help… but I totally forgot to tell you about setting it to “fixed size”.

That’s cool, fixed size was the easy part, knowing what to look for was the hard part. Thanks Genem.
