Sorry to hear that, doru…
I personally own an HP DV6T SE laptop (Core i7, 8 GB RAM , 160 GB SSD , ATI Radeon HD5650 ). It’s getting close to 1 and a half years and the only thing that let me down was the external battery. I love this machine.
Guess your story is common throughout various brands – I have a friend who spent $3000 on a Macbook and this month it’s the third time he sends it in service… Bad luck, I guess…
to me happened something similar with my last sony vaio, every year for 4 consecutive years in september the hard disk or the video card was burned, sent it to assistance, 1 week without pc then worked again… this happend seriously all the time in september ahah was really strange… then i changed to another sony vaio, and this time it’s the noisest pc i ever had… i guess next pc will not be a vaio ahah
I have a hp and I’m pretty happy with it. Bought it a year ago it has a i7 8gb ram, cost me 900€ but it was worth every penny so far
I’m not saying hp is the best but it sure is a reliable brand for laptops in my opinion
I bought a HP-570 Elite last year and love it. Different strokes…

I have my theory.
Is like a sin wave. First a brand builds decent to great products, if you are lucky you buy that product at the highest point of product quality represented by highest point in the sin wave. Then they go down and produce some really crappy products. Low value for the sin wave. If you buy at this point then, well, you are f.., you are unlucky.
Now I don’t want to turn this into a debate on who is better, but just be careful with HP, I believe they are at the lowest point on sin quality wave.
This theory makes sense since most of the brands are owned by some big corporation and up in the chain they end up being owned by one or two banks.

A good friend once told me: “Know what a firm started doing, and you’ll know what they’re truly good at”. HP started producing printers, and personally, I would never buy a computer from them.
