Hello People,

I had submitted Minimalistic Business card and got rejected just few minutes ago :(

you can see file at http://www.kkmedia.org/preview.jpg

Reviewer reason – Unfortunately, whilst this file here has a reasonable concept and is minimal, it is technically too simplistic and generic to be approved for the site.

I saw so many cards with just name and info (no graphics) that’s why these are called minimalistic. But still I have some graphic and effects in my business card. Please tell me what do you think about this?

Thank you all.

Regards Saptarang

Hi Saptarang,

I will try to help you. There are some people confused between simple and minimalist. Simple is just a simple design, but minimalist is put an important thing only to use in you design.

I think ‘Thank you’ is not appropriate in your front biz card. I believe that you have a quality to do better, just wondering why you chose minimal. Don’t ever make something that you see from other author did, make your own style of art and design. :)

I think your biz card have good quality of color, but need improvements with the curve on side, try to put some wavy thing or floral element with combination of color.

Like I said in this thread, try to give a clever and creative element in your design, as well as your design title and graphic.

That’s just my 2cents, I hope to see you in biz card. :) Good lucks.

Hi saptarang, it’s a pretty good design, colors and type are ok. I’m not sure those hard edges work ok against a smooth curve though. Overall it’s just lacking a “something”. That “something” usually comes from a strong concept.

kaixer made a good point too. It’s not a minimalistic design, it’s simple. Minimalism is when there’s nothing to take out of the composition. And it’s quite hard to get right, http://www.motifake.com/image/demotivational-poster/1008/minimalism-minimalism-bed-effort-demotivational-poster-1281605849.jpg
