My flyer got rejected any advices would be much appreciated

Hi the reviewer said ” You need to work on improving the text information, text style and fonts. You will also need to work on the colors and effects that are applied over the main area of the flyer. “

as the reviewer told you to improve the text by some styles , also work on the quality of the main type give it a quality style with suitable color to the flyer .

like i change the main title style to something different. like should i make the flyer more grunge or less grunge

Hi Amrhamza,

Don’t consider whether to or not to grunge at this moment, as your reviewer said, you issues currently lie at a much more basic level. Lets see if I can help a little:

1. Type. It’s clear that you need to work on your type on this flyer, add all the effects and images you want, but a flyer is a communication device primarily, so i’ll break this section down;

a) Font Choice, I don't thing your font choice is a big problem, but a Serif font is already a complex entity, adding effects and drop shadows to a Serif font can look messy and over-worked very fast, consider toning down your effects and using them more subtly.

b) Text layout, drop out all your photos and effects, and you'll notice that your layout is forced into the edges, work on your layout more, it needs some love. You need to provide your consumers with more area for info and small print, without just having to cram it into the bottom left as you've done here.

c) Centre Motif, there are so many effects going on here it's hard to tell what you were going for, is it an explosion, or a light burst, or a light streak? Simplify this by choosing one direction and sticking to it.

2. Top Right Roundlet, at the moment this simply doesn’t work, strip back the effects on this and you will see, you need to work on the type at the point before jazzing it up, also notice that you’ve a letterpress effect here, and next to the roundlet your ‘speed dating’ text is a glossy metal effect in a shiny metal border;

3. Type Effects, Letterpress, shiny metal, backlit, explosions, this flyer has it all, which isn’t a good thing, again, pick a direction, stick to it, and pay attention to the fine details, the extra time you add to the little things, the more professional your work becomes.
