I find these artists really effective for boosting creativity: Massive Attack, Portishead, Nujabes, Pink Floyd and Radiohead.

Personally, it depends on the mood/project, but even so, I tend not to listen before, or while working on the concept, so that it doesn’t subconsciously influence me towards the wrong direction. Unless, of course, it is something directly related to the idea at hand. Later in the project, if I do turn something on, it mostly serves to pass the time during execution. Anything goes.

Good music very much … Often I listen to: Chopin, Prokofiev, Lara Fabian, Pink Floyd …![]()
+1. Add Bjork to that list when you want to make something totally original

At the moment Daft Punk score for Tron: Legacy is so inspiring for me, but for most times I listen to Dir En Grey.
I was seriously hooked on that Daft Punk score a while back, still love it, especially ‘End of Line’ on the reconfigured album. Here on Spotify.
At the moment, there’s a lot of Jaguar Skills going on!
My excuses for double posting ; I’ve always been a fan of the composer Aram Khachaturian ; and this piece, THE LULLABY from the Gayaneh Suite moves me a lot…
Great experience.

Some random picks from my iTunes library: Delusion Twin, Deadsy, Doors, Eminem, Fdel, Jaromir Nohavica, Kavinsky, Lady GaGa, Metallica, Pendulum, Rammstein, Serj Tankian, Sun Kil Moon, System of a Down and some movie/game soundtracks, pretty standard portfolio I would say. It’s kinda hard to discover new music I like so I don’t bother anymore.
