Internet Police

Hey guys,
Is there such thing? Internet police? I stumbled upon 2 videos and I’d like to report them. I didn’t even dare to watch them, I’m EXTREMELY shocked you can find these things on the web.

I can’t believe you can find such things on the internet. I mean really, I know that there’s a lot of weird and sick crap on the internet, but this is waaay too much. Trust me, it will mess your head only reading the url name. I mean, I know that stuff like this happens in the world, because let’s face it, a lot of people are extremely sick, but showing videos like that on the internet is way too much. I’m not easily shockable, but this is… I can’t find the words… it’s too much for me to handle…

So, is there an internet authority that I could report these things to? I’m telling you, I would make these people do prison for life. And that wouln’t be enough.

I’d say report the sites to your local authorities. Then hopefully they do something with the information. For example, in the U.S, if it was a major crime then the police would probably get in contact with the F.B.I.

I’m finding a lot of sites I can report internet content to, but I don’t really trust them (I can make a site like that just as well). Isn’t there a .gov global website that I can report internet content to? Something that actually has some authority? Anyone?

fifty_tons I know what you are talking about. And whats worse this stuff gets spread in places you wouldn’t expect to find such content. I am so disgusted with the internet right about now that I started deleting everything not work related and swore to keep it just work related on the net.

This internet anonymity things is such a blessing and a curse at the same time. If the thing you found is on a forum or social site contact the moderators first. If it is a private site usually reporting to authorities is a good thing and about as much as you can do. If I remember correctly you can ask google to remove pages from the index because of inappropriate content as well

I emailed FBI and a few other “report abuse” sites. I’ll look for the google report you’re telling me and I’ll do that.

But it’s somethig that I really really don’t understand. We practice censorship on TV, and we don’t even show a boob before midnight. But on the internet, which as highly used as the telivision, you’ll find the most shocking things that you can’t even imagine any time of day. Shouldn’t there be a global organization that would have authority over ALL the internet? Or at l;east in the countries that agree on having this authority? I mean come on, I’m 27 and I almost died of a heart attack, what if a kid or a woman would find these things?

I think I just realised (I mean really realised) that I’m living in a dangerous world.

DO NOT investigate by yourself and don’t actively search for criminal content else, one day you will find the “real” police at your door, and prove then what really happen, it will be a very hard and costly (lawyers and stuff) thing.

I’m in Romania, local authorities can’t even handle local crimes, I don’t think they’ll do anything about a site from I don’t know what country
