Sounds like I’m a bit too late to the party…There was another way. Here it is, for what it’s worth.

Save off a lower res. version of the PSD .

Right click the PSD compostion in the AE Project window. Choose Set Proxy and select the lower res version. When you render, make sure that Use Proxies is set to current. Unlike replace footage, set proxy will keep all the orignal positinings / dimensions intact.

You could also set proxies for the individual photoshop layers, if you’d animated / treated them separately.

I use proxies all the time….it’s one of the best workflow time-savers. And probably one of the least used. And yes… if you’ve imported a graphic that’s too big, it can help here too. :)

In my country there is expresion for this situation ” Rano Marko na Kosovo stize” . It means that you are late :) But I learned my leasson now. Thank you felt.
