Hi – I sent a long carefully worded query to Flashden about this but I have not received a reply.
Im confused about the regular licence.
If I make a logo using a flash file that I have purchased the regular licence for - can I put the logo on more than one page of my website? can I put more than 1 copy of the logo on a single page? what if the flash file has multiple features like a text pack that has 10 different effects – can I use each effect only on one string of text? Or can I use each effect once on one website? Or only once on one web page? Or if it is my own logo can I put it on every website I design as a link to my business?
It seems very unclear to me exactly what is meant by “Your use of the Product is limited to a single application. ” and also “If the Product is used or incorporated in a work there is no restriction on the number of copies of that work that can be reproduced and distributed”
Does it mean that so long as I incorporate the flash file into something then I can use it on all my various websites? But if I use the flash file as it comes without modification then I can only use it once?
Please clarify as I wish to use the things I create incorporating the Flashden flash files on my own websites which include approx 5 different domains. I also want to produce works for clients and I need to know if one copy is enough to be able to include the work on multiple pages in their site.
Thanks Dan Vantari
The example given in the licence of a brochure is ridiculous as flash files are meant for website use and the whole distribution model is completely different. Thx D.V.

“Your use of the Product is limited to a single application. ”
I think it is a very clear statement that you can use a file bought here on flashden only in a single project. You can use it on multiple pages of the same project or even use multiple times in a single page but you cannot use it in multiple projects.
Thanks SaafiDesign but I really need to hear this clarified by Flashden. I sent the query about a week ago now.
So I run a social networking site with hundreds of members … if I allow members to embed this flash file on their pages, you are saying that is use in a single project? What constitues ‘a single application’? Use on one domain? I guess so…
And it still doesnt clarify what the situation is when the Flashden download includes multiple variations on the effect. I would think that a package deal obviously allows one use of each effect in the package. But a single app I would think that variations would not be allowed with a regular licence.
The example of the broshure should be replaced with an actual website example as this is Flashden not Graphic River!
Thanks Dan V
The word project is not very clear but also translates to the following:
A website is a single project. So how you use that file in that website is up to you.
As long as you do not sell the the file itself.
If my website has 10000 pages and I have a flash banner for a header I can repeat that file 10000 times.
Flashden has probably the most confusing licenses I have ever seen and they are just getting worst.
I hope they fix them soon.

The single application or regular license allows you to use the file for one project or application. Lets say you use a Flash file to make a logo animation for your company, and your company is a network of 40 sites. You ARE allowed to use that logo on all 40 sites, the project or application of the file was your logo, not the websites, so you can then use that end result however you choose. It’s now your companies branding.
Lets say, you use a file here within a Flash game. The game itself is the single project, if you make it embeddable on individual sites within a network, its still one project, because it’s still 1 game. Regular license applies. If you intend to sell the game or profit off of the game, then you must buy the extended license.
I’m the VideoHive manager, so you can what I said above. Sorry for the inconvenience with support, it should not have taken more than a week to get a response, maybe something went wrong with your support ticket.

Hi Mark,
What if I buy a banner and place it in 5 different places on my website with different content and size?
Thats still one project in my view.
If a client or you, yourself decide to work on A Project/website then that counts as 1 Project.

This is not confirmed but this is how I understand the licenses to work.
I buy a file, then i use it on the following pages.
www.mywebsite.com/index.html
www.mywebsite.com/shop.com
www.mywebsite.com/contact.html
This is allowed under the single use license. But if i then want to place the file on this site…
www.myotherwebsite.com/index.html
then i need a new license as its a different project.
Anyway, staff should be able to clarify for you.
Jay
