9 days ago, I was creat topic http://photodune.net/forums/thread/about-logos-and-tm/67421. No ansver for today. It wasn’t interesting for envato contributors and stuff. But the problem remains, and so far contributors will take liberties with copyright – Problems with DMCA will continue. On the other stocks , where I sell my photos, and vectors, I can not load the image with the object of copyright – a logo, trademark, etc. These images are taken for the sale of licenses for Editorial Use Only.

I always wondered what happens when certain license on assets or scripts changes over time, and what happens with files that previously used these assets?

I had this issue with my files, once the license is changed completely new version of the script is created, so until you are using the “old” version you are safe till the end of days.
So, was this a fake DCMA , or was this guy really thinking that you violated his copyright?

SportTipsWorld saidno problem
@doru that has to be the worst analogy ever. No disrespect but ..
, we are just saying our point of view
SportTipsWorld saidas I said, I don’t know more than what mpc said in this thread. so in his case the DMCA was not genuine. But is not the DMCA the problem here. Is the reaction envato had when they received the DMCA .
With regard to DMCA . and @MPC so you know who filed the complaint ? Weird if you do .. but if you dont , then perhaps that person had a genuine grivance or concern.
also, we are not speaking about a new author with one item who got two sales and then someone send a DMCA against him.

I am pretty sure 99.99% of authors here doesn’t knows what is their role on these marketplaces when it comes to licensing.
You guys should understand that we (authors) are responsible for all the issues related to copyright in both directions. Envato and similar vendors have nothing to do with those issues and authors should be careful while handling license and blaming Envato or similar marketplaces clearly means, you are not even aware your own role.
Also if the marketplace staffs starts bending towards saving specific authors (for example Elite, Featured etc) in these issues, it could derail their entire resource of development. (Of course I agree the Elite, badges, blah blah are meaningless but not due to this licensing risks but even as a community, badges and such things are immature way to create excitement and value. I dream a day when these guys remove the dozen unnecessary badges which are purely created for excitement / delusional credit or respect. Instead focus/spend their resources towards improving the item rating system etc)
Personally I also faced a dmca issue and recovered in the past and it caused a severe damage (the same way as you and everyone), but for me it turned out to be a learning lesson about my own role as author and I was silent just to keep myself as not-special. Also even speaking these subjects could start a bad trend on forums, so I would suggest please refrain from starting threads and instead speak your opinion through support.

Everyone should be treated equally on Envato Marketplaces, no matter how many badges they have.

except some random dude who send a dmca is worth more than an elite author. Makes perfect sense.
But you are right about the “equal” part
I’m with VF, badges should be deleted, they don’t mean anything at this point.

I think you guys totally missed a point of this thread. I will try to explain one more time, the only reason I started this thread was:
1. To warn other authors. 2. To come up with a solution to make up for the lost time/sales, when you clearly did nothing wrong. For me a good idea would be to bring the items to the first page one more time, but maybe I am wrong…
As I already said I think that Envato was very cooperative and did what they should do, as @dSKY said every author should be treated equally because Elite is only a badge. It would be nice to have V.I.P authors but I am not sure if this would be good for the business
