It would be great if authors could each have a news feed of sorts. Something we can use to announce updates to products, ask for feedback. You already allow users to ‘follow’ other ones, how about a feed which includes all the updates from those you follow. Almost a twitteresque system?

I’ve always liked the idea of having a timeline. But – assuming that we eventually implement an automated system for providing updates, would you still find it just as useful? Couldn’t you just use the forum to ask for feedback?
What about having say Twitter or some other social feed update on our profile? Just one less page to visit to get updates.
If you implement an update/versioning system for products where customers are notified about the new versions, you can scrap this timeline idea!
I like TutelageSystems’ idea too, allow a twitter feed on your profile, and perhaps the ability to filter what is displayed by a hash tag. E.g. I might specify that I only want twitter posts that contain #codecanyon in it to be displayed.
Either way, I just want a method where I can communicate to customers that there are new updates. Though the timeline idea I had here also allows people to see new products from their favourite authors and not just updates to existing products, but I’d be more than happy with a version number/notification system.
