Did I miss something – why was the Elite Badge removed from the profiles?
It is still on our items. However now you can’t see e.g. in the forums whether an author has Elite author Status 
...at least they didn’t take the money

Looks like some changes going on to enhance the benefit of Elite. For example, Power Elite authors got a highlight color in their profile and item page: http://themeforest.net/user/Kriesi
Badges have no use in the forums, so I guess removing as a badge downgrades nothing. +1 for badge removal whatever it may be

No, I got another email dated 3rd February 2012 which had link to the form and password details.
Btw, I didn’t receive carepack after 125k though (submitted form on FEB ). Looks like these departments are not too serious here.
