Envato's Twittering Habits

Looking at competition for Envato marketplaces I see other companies are far more active using twitter – it seems that since Envato decided to club all twitter accounts together that we have less and less promotion via twitter which is an awesome medium for getting people to the marketplaces – is this just Envato resting on it’s previous success? I hope not as that’s a recipe for losing the top spot guys.

Example being:

Last tweet 20hrs ago Previous to that: 3:59 PM Jan 11th

Averages at maybe 2 tweets a day for all marketplaces – doesn’t seem quite frequent enough tbh.

Thoughts?

I’m not understanding the complaint, we’re not tweetng enough from a certain account? Last time we got grief from users about tweeting too much sp it’s a bit humorous to see that.

Also, we haven’t clubbed them all together. We grouped the related ones together so they could all be a related content stream. But I wouldn’t be relying on someone else tweeting your file as a means of promotions

Please don’t go on the defensive Drew when it’s not needed – I mentioned nothing about previous accounts tweeting too much – I’m stating a simple fact -without using the competitions name – I am saying that 1 or maybe 2 tweets a day is NOT enough to help promote all the marketplaces and files uploaded everyday that you have as a company – just sayin.

The reason people complained before is because you pushed out the same darned message via gosh knows how many accounts – all about the same time – then reviewers and mods etc simply reposted – it was spam twittering – big difference – you could easily send out 1 per hour or so promoting an article / audio file / template / 3D model / competition results or details etc without it being useless to people.

Man I guess you guys just HATE people recommending things – really tired of these forums these days man, everything you say gets trashed by someone or another.

So you’d like to see more tweets per day promoting marketplace files on the relevant accounts? That’s a fair request, I’ll talk to the Twitter guru (Rog) and see what can be done.

Again you didn’t read my original post – I was not “expecting” you to promote my files – even though I see that as your job as a company selling other peoples work – I was talking about YOU as a company promoting YOUR company and it’s products.

And again – NOT a complaint – JUST a suggestion – I did put “Any Thoughts’ at the end of my post to encourage others to weigh in with some ideas and other suggestions to help promote the marketplaces in general.
