I noticed the thumbnail to my new file was a little distorted so I decided to update it. At first I thought maybe it was the pixel text not being on a round pixel, but they are and it is still distorted.
What I don’t understand is that when you right-click the thumbnail and view it directly in the browser it looks fine, but Envato is doing something to the image server side it seems to reduce it’s quality. I’ve tried both png and jpg, and still no luck. Any suggestions?
Also, you’ll notice this doesn’t happen to other thumbs with pixel fonts.

Your thumbnail is 81×81. Envato needs 80×80. Just correct that and you’ll be fine

I recently added a processor for thumbnails to reduce their file size (we had 80×80 thumbnails on the homepage up to 35kb!). It strips out unneeded metadata and reduces image quality to 90% which had no obvious effects to quality in my tests, but if you find a case where it looks bad please let me know – ian@envato.com
