In my mind sometime in the future a person gets born with the superhuman ability to fully understand and explain all the extended licences for all marketplaces – boom instant nobel prize winner.

It’s all complicated. Reading Extended Licence I would say I don’t need permission because I use WP CC Plugin in a bigger project which is Themeforest theme….but to make things clear, i just got answer from Envato and …....I NEED WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE AUTHOR .

maybe the envato support don’t get the idea of what you want to do, because other envato staffs said different things in forums and on notes. and also the terms said something else at this moment.

just because a new license is available, where is need the author written permission (Limited Re-Purposing), doesn’t mean the extended license has changed for this case, otherwise where is the purpose of the Limited Re-Purposing!? if for both licenses is need a special permission from author.

So the licence terms tells you that you’re all good to use the item, and then Envato turn around and contradict their own terms…

There always seems to be such a surprising lack of communication between the staff around here.. you often see reviewers having to correct a decision they’ve made because of fuzzy communication from the top, like when some of the original price changes were being rolled out incorrectly recently..

And now again we have staff writing one set of rules in the licence terms and then support turning around and disagreeing with those terms..

Big lack of effective communication.

On topic: Having read the extended licence terms again, I really do not see why appelton needs to gain permission if he’s paid for his extended licence.. we are clearly being told that this gives us a pass to use the code in our own items.

Is there any Envato Stuff Member around here that could take a look at this topic and make a comment ?

I saw you posted this over on Lance’s main licensing thread – http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/extended-license-changes-part-1/65722

Thanks. That’s the thread you should be using to ask any licensing questions. It will keep everything together that way. Locking this thread to avoid confusion.
