It is really hard to tell anything yet as you seem to be in a very early stage. Keep on going and take a look at the tumblr themes that are out there already and sell well. If you go with a minimalistic style you should be very sure about your design skills-it is hard to create an appealing site with little shapes, lines, icons colors etc. Orman Clark is King in this area but nobody matches him yet.
