Honestly, it’s not worth doing that. Although the feature would be awesome in cases of “angry” buyers. Meaning, if a buyer is angry, you deal with him politely, but it would be cool to be able to “disable purchases for this buyer” :)
+1 on this I HATE INCOMPETENTS

If anybody violates copyrights he has to be banned (not from purchases and not by author decision but totally per support ticket) even it is useless since anybody can easily create new account.

Best Regards, Andrey

Will there are definitely lots of pirates in the world, but there are still good honest people. If you bought something you appreciated for a price, would you simply share it? I don’t think so. :)

Just keep collecting evidence and send it all to envato in one big hit. They can do a lot if you provide enough evidence. They cannot do much when people just send them a link.

Then send the information to the users ISP , and a copy to the hosting provider, along with the usual DMCA notice(s). It has quite a nice effect ! :)

You may also get a nice shiny copyright badge..

Lots of authors are starting to track item usage more, it’s great to see! Especially those who ask for licence purchase codes to receive extra features or automatic upgrades.

Oh it would be so fun to post certain copyright details regarding certain buyers/authors on the public forum too. But best keep it private between yourself and envato staff ;)

You mean Elite authors share our files?
:) I knew this elite authors can’t be trusted, now we have proof! ban them all!
Start with plutonium ones first, please.

haha, I thought TylerQuinn was asking a new option for (atleast) Elite authors to disable purchase from particular buyer accounts which are suspecious. Or am I wrong!

Removal of plutonium authors can benefit a lot to Envato and new authors though, that’s different point! :D

Fighting pirates is an endless war, they will just find more and more way to get the files. I myself, just accidentally drop my external hard disk and need to re-download most items, but I usually visit my download as a shortcut to product page in case I need to post a comment.

Perhaps, envato could implement a mobile token system for item downloads

I this is a good idea, especially for those competitors who buy my items for “inspiration”.

It will not make much difference, they will just open an another account to do that, also not a big issue to consider anyway. The worst problem I see is if competitors enter into item comment section requesting some alien features, repeatedly! There is an easier way to handle though, it is just saying big “Not Possible” :)
