wpCanyonThemes saidJeez! I’ve told about 6 people now, not even Jebus could handle that many authors.
ThemeProvince saidWe’re also thinking about hiring someone soon. Mind telling me who he is?
Absolutely nothing. I got tired of it so hired someone to handle support instead. Whom I may add is doing a fantastic job.![]()

I think it would have to vary from case to case, I mean how many hows of support is needed? how far is the extent of support, i.e would I be doing code modifications and how intense of mods(css or php), installs etc?
realistically I’m US based so I’ll be on the more expensive, but again it would vary what Im doing, and we all know it wouldn’t be a” you site down for 5 hours a week answering support” it would have to be a figuratively flat rate that would weigh from week to week
anyways if any authors are interested to throw a proposal hit my contact form, Im always up for ideas , especially seeing as I’ll be going from student -> full-time lacky in the next few months

I’m also doing everything I can, but it’s not so bad. I don’t know why many authors with not so much more sales than I have are complaining about time it takes to do support. Maybe they have more themes and probably more complicated, but for me it’s just Lot Of Bug Fixing right after theme release (no matter how hard you’ll try, there are always bugs in software), but than, with version 1.2.3 of theme when all bugs are fixed and all common questions answered, it’s just mails from people who have no experience with WordPress, and even theme installation is a problem, just basic WordPress stuff, which is I must say annoying, but nothing which could take too much time. I’ve answered around 700 support mails from January 2011, plus comments under themes. I also make quick modifications for free, I think it takes less time and it’s bette in long term, to send to buyer couple of lines of code which will change what they want, than sending quotes and invoices etc, but maybe it just because in my situation it would require too much paperwork to get money for that legally.

I agree but sometimes things get overboard with some customers with tens of changes…. that is the part that drives me crazy
And i hate explaining simple math problems with image sizes. Things i have learned in the 2nd grade at school. And making diagrams because words did not do the trick
