I’m not talking about selling outside of the marketplace, but I mean advertise. Do you advertise/market your products outside of here? e.g. Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Other Ads? Do you just mention it on your blog/twitter feed? Have you found anything that works really well? Or do you just rely on having the product here on the marketplace?
I don’t know if it works but i am tweeting minimum 2 times a day
On YouTube
But I am not buying ads or something.

So you have videos for your products? Do you find it helps? Are these for audio/video products or web products? I’ve just got web products and been thinking of doing some walkthrough videos.
Orman is a very good example for me. He promotes his products using his blog, PremiumPixels…
But, Envato is a very big community now. Being respectful author, with good product, good support, and good communication is enough to get more sales… just my two cents…

I do cross advertising via my site and my marketplace portfolio. It has worked great for me ever since I started doing so, increased my sales with close 15% in just under a months time. Other than that I use Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Adobe.

+1. Especially support and well documentation in your item.
Once they love/buy your item, they will buy another item from your portfolio.

Check!
I like to feel I give great support and that my products have great documentation. I haven’t yet had someone ask “How do I X ?”, it’s only been set up issues, most of which seem to have to do with server configurations :/

Compare your career as an author with a starting engine. In the beginning, you really need to put some gas into it, hit the pedals hard, really push yourself to get this thing started. As soon as it catches up some speed, you can partially leave it on auto-pilot.
One you have reached a very high speed, and it continues to increase, you won’t need that starting push anymore. However, it is very important that you still accelerate every now and then.
Makes sense
