I would really appreciate it, if there was a search bar in the products/comments sections in all the marketplaces. Currently, I perform a search and it searches the whole site or a whole category, which is good – but I think there should be a separate search within a product.
That is all.

Thanks for the suggestion but it’s been suggested numerous times before. The devs aren’t interested.

Hey Alex,
Please try to be a bit more friendly and also try not to speak for the devs, because in this case, that is blatantly incorrect.
@dkeffer – The ability to search item comments is definitely a highly requested one and it’s something we hope to do in the future. I can tell you from my meetings with them that improving search in a lot of areas is definitely a high priority on the devs list right now. Thanks Dave!
That’s a shame! I wish for that feature every time I visit CodeCanyon & ThemeForest.
Thanks for letting me know Alex.

Please see my reply, Alex is not a staff member and it’s something we hope to implement sometime

Thanks Drew,
I can see why it is such a highly requested feature. Every time that I have purchased an item, I have to look through every comment to see if my question has already been discussed, which sometimes can run more that 10 pages.
The design of the Envato Marketplaces is just crazy, awesome – kudos to the staff. It’s just one feature that I thought might’ve been overlooked, but apparently you might be getting to it soon. That would be GREAT !

I know i’m about to revive an old thread, but still. This is something thats been bugging me since, well years i guess
Besides adding the comment search it would be really helpfull if the seller could mark some comments (including the feedback from the seller) to a hotlist. This way a kind of FAQ is automatically created. This saves both seller as buyer a lot of time.
To be honest, only a few sellers update their FAQ with recurring questions from the comments or their support site.
I agree completely, but I can’t see it happening any time soon. There’s been a lot of talk lately on stuff that both authors and buyers need and would like on the site, but sadly not much has been done but they are on a list to be implemented or discussed.
The problem with FAQs is that there is no edit button, so each time a particular FAQ needs updating, it has to be deleted then re added, so it’s a real hassle to keep them up to date, and especially in the order they want.
Fingers crossed they do something about it soon
Wow, didn’t know that. That’s really cumbersome, all the more reason for Envato to give this issue some attention
Maybe, if the Envato staff is too busy and/or doesn’t have the resources: how about some crowdsourcing? Let us buyers and sellers vote and we all finance a few much needed optimizations
I’m not entirely sure what their plan is, but from my perspective it does seem that they just don’t have enough resources to keep up with our ideas / modifications.
It’s funny being such a big community, of which quite a large percentage are competent coders, it seems odd not reaching out to us to help out. I would happily devote some time for free and help with modifications if it meant benefitting and making the marketplace better for both buyers and authors.
Only thing we can do is play it by ear, as I know they are watch the forums and know what’s going on
