Looks like I confirmed my suspicions another way: Checked the apple warranty and the serial number matches a white ipod and not a black one. So I guess it’s safe to say it is indeed refurbished, they obviously replaced the screen..

I did, after dispaying the apple, it wakes up to the legular main screen, not starting all over again asking for settings like when I first got it. So that’s not it either. :/

Hi guys, I purchased a used ipod touch from ebay and what strikes me as strange/suspicious is the fact that when I got it, as soon as I charged it (it was out of battery) it opened to the very first settings screen, had to put all the settings and such as if it was all new and had never been opened before.

From my experience, even if you reset the device via itunes, it just gets to its factory settings/applications. It doesn’t start from the beginning like it hasn’t been used before. What I can only think of and what I’m worrying about is that the device has been opened, that it might be refurbished and not just used as the seller was claiming. Cause I can’t think of another reason for the device to act like it hasn’t been opened before, unless its actual hardware has been assembled / disassembled.

Unless I have missed something and there is a way to reset the device to the very beginning like it hasn’t been opened before, that I don’t know….is there or I’m right to be alerted for a refurbished unit?

Hi justleftpub, I actually replied about an hour or so ago, guess you haven’t seen it at the time of your above post. Most of the authors we always give support and I understand some of you might have tough deadlines but you got to also understand guys that as all people we’re not 24/7 in front of the screen and an internet connection, especially when it’s the weekend (I just came in from a trip actually) so a bit of patience is required. And of course always take into consideration a possible time zone conflict.

Something I forgot to mention in my reply: Logos we place in the brochure templates in most cases are not supposed to be editable, they work just as a placement sample of your own logo.

Possible solution is simply making a New Paw! sticky thread permanently. Add a forum rule saying to express your new paw joy there and Mods can move them there if spotted.
