Asking if Blender is “good” is a very relative term in the same way as asking which hammer and saw were used to build a house. Really you could use most an hammer or saw to build a house and it comes down to understanding the theories of construction more than owning the same tools as they builder down the street.

In the world of 3D the basic concepts are very much the same (menu location and terminology differ slightly). You need to get stared understanding how the world of 3D works (modeling types/styles, texturing, lighting, rendering, post) and realizing that you won’t be creating something that taxes the abilities of any software right away. Blender has almost all the same features/capabilities as Max/Maya/Lightwave/C4D and its cost makes for a very low barrier to entry.

As was stated before you will want to specialize down the road, but you still have to learn the basics before you need to worry too much which package is the absolute best for you. When you are ready to specialize I assume your looking into video game dev (Thats about all I can think of for integration into C#) in which case I believe 3DS Max is pretty much the standard for that part of the industry.

Thanks a lot buddy …. i appreciate your advice …. thanks to million :D :inlove:

I’m looking for an image mini gallery specifically for mobile websites. That looks like the one in the appstore in the iPhone. That I can drag with my finger left and right. When viewed on pc, it should slide with mouse dragging. I prefer jQuery. Is there something like that already or do I need to create my own?

hello

“i think” there is nothing like that in the marketplace, anyways if you decided to make your own i can help you.

Cheers :P

if you want to try out how to model first intesively (before buying a expensive license of 3dsmax or cinema4d)

I would try out Blender. it’s open-source and completely free for personal and commercial use, they recently updated the interface, which looks now awesome..

best tutorial website for blender is definetely Blender Cookie

have fun

thanks a lot

i know about blender but is it good like 3d max or cinema 4D ?

Thanks a lot for your support

Well… For a start, i would like to tell you that 3d is the most awesome field of design. You will never regret entering it.

I would personally advice you to use 3ds max, as it is by far, the easiest and the most effective program ever created. It is much easier than Maya which is also a brilliant piece of software.

Max is easy to use for all purposes. From creating stunning VFX to creating objects to your programs, games, and engines.

Max has plenty of tutorials online that would help you adapt to it. Max also features a bundle of tutorials with the software which will guide you through all the basic concepts of 3d art and modeling.

...Not that i am advertising the software i use, but i sometimes say, ’’Thank god i use 3ds max’‘

It is your call, but i really advice you to go for max, especially that it has a great offer for university students. You can get your education license for free ! check it out, there was a thread here on 3dOcean not very long ago…

Hope this was inspiring, lol.

Welcome aboard !

Cheers

Thanks to million my friend :D

I learnt in Cinema 4D but this is because it was what I was taught at university. I’ve tried other 3D programs but always go back to C4D . I can also use Sketch Up. I know C4D isn’t really an industry standard program but it’s easy to use.

Once you’ve picked the program you want to use, stick to it because in my own experience it’s to flip between 2 unless you really want to learn more than one.

If you chose to go with Cinema 4D I can send you some very useful links to get you started off.

Good luck and welcome to the 3D world! :D

thanks a lot buddy :D …. if i decide to go with cinema 4D i will tell you …. Thanks a lot :inlove:
